TapCal is a modern iOS-only calendar designed around clarity, speed, and real usability. The goal is simple: show you your time in a way your brain can instantly understand.

Why I Built TapCal

I’m Jon the creator of TapCal and the YouTube channel JonsTech. For years, I wanted a calendar app that didn’t fight me. I wanted a full month view where every event is actually written out. I wanted widgets that show information, not decoration. And I wanted to input events naturally, the same way I think about them.

When I shared the early prototype, the reaction was immediate: “Why doesn’t this already exist?”

So I rebuilt it, polished it, and turned it into a real app.

Quick Guide for New Beta Testers

Getting Started

1. Open TapCal and grant calendar access.

2. Choose which calendars to show.

3. Swipe to explore the views.

4. Tap a day, or hit the + button, to create events.

Creating Events

• Use natural language for speed.

• Add notes, location, and alerts if needed.

• Tap the tick to save instantly.

Editing & Deleting

• Tap an event for full edit mode.

• Long-press for shortcuts.

• Delete from the edit screen or long-press menu.

Power Tips

• Toggle on/off specific calendars in Settings.

• Pick your default duration & default calendar.

• Hide weekends for a tighter view.

• Use compact density for busy schedules.

• Tap Today to snap back instantly.

FAQ

Does TapCal store my data?

No. All data stays in your iCloud/Google/Outlook accounts. TapCal does not upload your events to separate servers.

Does it work with the default Calendar app?

Yes. Both read/write the same system calendar data.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Anything created offline syncs once you reconnect.

Why am I not seeing all my events?

Check both iOS Settings > Calendar > Accounts and TapCal Settings > Calendars.

If You Hit Issues

• Make sure you’re online for syncing.

• Check the system Calendar app to confirm the account is working.

• Force-quit and reopen TapCal if things look out of date.

• Ensure at least one calendar is enabled in settings.
