TapCal is now in beta, and if you’ve been looking for a calendar that actually makes sense at a glance, this one is built for you. This is the first early-access release on TestFlight, and it’s already shaping up to be the cleanest, fastest way to see your month, your week, and your day without digging through cluttered screens.
TapCal is a modern iOS-only calendar designed around clarity, speed, and real usability. The goal is simple: show you your time in a way your brain can instantly understand.
Full-month view. Actual event titles. Minimal taps. Fast performance. Clean, serious design without the fluff.
If you’ve ever looked at a grid of tiny dots and thought “this tells me nothing”, TapCal is the antidote.
I’m Jon the creator of TapCal and the YouTube channel JonsTech. For years, I wanted a calendar app that didn’t fight me. I wanted a full month view where every event is actually written out. I wanted widgets that show information, not decoration. And I wanted to input events naturally, the same way I think about them.
When I shared the early prototype, the reaction was immediate: “Why doesn’t this already exist?”
So I rebuilt it, polished it, and turned it into a real app.
TapCal isn’t chasing features for the sake of features. Everything exists because it reduces friction, removes confusion, or speeds you up.
A full month with readable events, not vague dots. You see what’s happening on every day with zero tapping.
Natural language means you can type exactly what you’d say in real life:
Lunch with Alex tomorrow at 1pm
TapCal fills in the details automatically.
Everything in TapCal is built to get you in and out fast, fewer screens, fewer menus, fewer annoyances.
See up to 10 days of forecast right in your planning view. No extra apps, no extra steps.
TapCal uses Apple’s native frameworks, so it feels fluid, modern, and light. No lag, no bloat.
This is the current early-access feature set available in the TapCal beta:
The beta is stable, fast, and fully usable as a daily calendar — but it’s still evolving. You may see occasional bugs or rough edges, and your feedback will shape the final release.
You’re not just testing TapCal. You’re helping build it.
Does TapCal store my data?
No. All data stays in your iCloud/Google/Outlook accounts. TapCal does not upload your events to separate servers.
Does it work with the default Calendar app?
Yes. Both read/write the same system calendar data.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Anything created offline syncs once you reconnect.
Why am I not seeing all my events?
Check both iOS Settings > Calendar > Accounts and TapCal Settings > Calendars.
You can contact support inside the app under Settings > Support.
TapCal started because I wanted a calendar that didn’t waste my time. Now it’s becoming something bigger, a tool people rely on daily. If you care about clarity, speed, and understanding your schedule at a glance, TapCal was built for you.
